How To Combat Spiritual Attacks ~ By: Tony Ogunlowo

I’ve spent a lifetime fending off spiritual attacks from family, friends and  people I don’t even know. Thank God I’m still alive till this day to tell the tale; many not so fortunate have gone to meet their Maker before their time.
We live in precarious times where people use the Power of Darkness to harm their fellow human beings through spells, incantations – even bad thoughts. People are being killed in their sleep, through kidney failure, strokes, road accidents and through other mysterious circumstances.
People go to witchdoctors to procure amulets, talismans and incantations to protect them from evil and people who wish them ill.
They won’t work.
The main reason these things don’t work is because they are created by Man who consults the lesser spirits (aka demons). The juju you do to protect yourself can be understood by another witchdoctor who knows how to unravel it. For instance an armed robber who does juju so he’s impervious to bullets can be killed by having his head chopped off or set on fire. Remember the Man who made the pencil also made the eraser. There will always be a way to get around what any witchdoctor may have done.
So how do you protect yourself from spiritual attacks?
The first and foremost thing is to believe that there is no power that supersedes that of God. Be you a Christian, Hindu or Muslim you have to believe that all power comes from God. Everything else is superficial and false.
In believing you can’t allow your faith to waiver! If you have faith as small as a mustard seed you can move mountains!
Once you have an unwavering belief in God no harm will come your way. In addition to spiritual attacks I’ve been poisoned several times, battled cancer and kidney failure and I’m still alive! All witches, witchdoctors and evil doers are subject to the will of God! Believe in him ( - not blind faith!) and you will be saved.
You cannot for a second doubt the power of the living God. Not for a second. If you do you will perish. The Lord God hates that Evil be wrought in the world.
With your faith intact it’s time to proceed to the next level.
Pray! You don’t need a pastor or prophet to pray for you: you can do it yourself (- unless of course you doubt yourself!). Pray honestly to God and you will hear his voice! It doesn’t matter whether you are a Muslim or a Christian. If you pray correctly you will hear God’s voice. To hear his voice you need to be free of all prejudice, selfishness, malice and have a clear conscience. For Christians who don’t know how to pray there is the Lord’s Prayer, Psalm 23 and 91 – or you can come up with your very own personalized prayer. God doesn’t need your money, tithes, your offerings – or anything! All he requires of you is to follow his way ( i.e  - The Ten Commandments). All he needs you to do is talk to him, honestly.
Carry a symbol of your religion: most Christian will make the sign of the cross when confronted with evil or wear a crucifix; Muslims can carry their prayer beads, the Misbaha or Tesbih and Jews the Star of David. These things work a lot better than talismans or amulets from your Babalawo or witchdoctor! Word of advice here – some people carry crucifixes and tesbihs along with what they get from their witchdoctors in the hope it will give them all round protection. It won’t!  The minute you start mixing something else with your religion you lose the protection of God. And the reason is very simple, because you doubt him by putting your faith in other things he will withdraw his support for you! (Remember ‘..you shall have no other god before me..’)
Scientists have agreed that the most powerful form of energy in the universe is white light. Our Lord Jesus said that ‘…I am the Light of the World…’. Surround yourself with white light (- and not darkness!). To put it in a simple way that anybody can understand and follow: when you are praying imagine a spotlight of white of coming down from heaven, covering and transfiguring you. No evil can come near anyone who is in the Light! Do this each time you pray or if you feel you’re in danger.
Another thing to do is ask the angels for help. There is a lot of controversy surrounding the consultation of angels and let me see if I can clear it up. An archangel or angel does not replace the role of God the Father, God the Holy Spirit or God the Son (Jesus Christ) in our lives: they complement. There are also those who would like to deceive you that you can control angels. You can’t! Angels are messengers from God! They will always do Gods will – not yours! Everyone has a guardian angel who watches over them. They are in your life to help and protect you at their discretion. They will help you and look after you as long as you are doing Gods will. They will not protect you if you’re bad, evil, selfish  or don’t follow the will of God.
Most important thing of all – Heaven helps those who help themselves. Don’t go where you shouldn’t go, don’t do things you shouldn’t do. Be vigilant at all times and don’t put the Lord God to the test. If you’re thrown into the lion’s den you will be saved but if you walk in willingly you’re on your own!
So you don’t need a pastor, prophet or witchdoctor (- who are only interested in your money!) to keep you safe from the forces of Evil. You can do it yourself.
Believe. Pray. Surround yourself with the Light of God and ask for continuing protection from your guardian angels.

I am living proof that it works.

#EricLivesOn: New video, 'The Sound'.

Eric Arubayi's "The Sound” is a soulful rendition of God’s faithfulness and ever enduring love. The chords in the background very much like the singer are soft and classical. At a point on the track, Eric’s voice is the most forthcoming instrument keeping in line with the solemnity of the track.

The song was co-written with PITA and is a soul stirring song of gratitude to God for all HE has done for us. It was produced by ‘e-Kelly on the beat’; Eric's childhood brother and friend under his record label Spirit Music and was released first in March 2016.

In the video, we see a beanie clad, unshaven Eric in a black T-shirt looking laid back signifying his vulnerability and perhaps even lowness then, he gets his hair cut and dons a three piece suit looking the part of the classic dapper man. He continues to sing of God’s goodness even as he gets touched up and styled till his transformation takes place.

The emotive message behind this simple video is so poignant in that we are to stay grateful to God at our lowest and highest points. For many who knew Eric, this season is albeit a tough one but amazingly enough, this video is reminiscent of his message to all who loved him and believers alike. We are to stay thankful and remember that God’s love is indeed everlasting no matter how grim it might look on the outside.

Leave it to Eric to drop us a message upon his grand exit into heaven. Video Directed by: Frizzle n Bizzle Films (@frizzlenbizzlefilms)

Article: The Power of Mentorship | By: Ayomide Olatunji

Many want to be great but a few know the secrets. A lot of people  are ignorantly labouring in the wrong  things. “The labour of the foolish man wearieth everyone of them because  HE KNOWETH NOT HOW to go to the city.” ECC 10:15.

Not everyone is struggling to succeed. While some are succeeding cheaply others  are struggling tirelessly. It takes light to succeed. Wisdom demands that we identify the people that are commanding the results we want and pronto we become an 'overnight' success.

There are no overnight successes anywhere. What we have are overnight learners who have succeeded in translating knowledge to results. One might ask, where do I get such knowledge that would lead to success? Who has this wisdom in store? Is it really possible for any man to have such feat-commanding wisdom? Those questions are almost as old as the human race. “ Whence then cometh wisdom?  and where is the place of understanding?  Job 28:20. The fact that there are successful  people around tells us people have what it takes to succeed  and they are trading with them already.

You see friends, success is predictable. If you want to know what God thinks about it (success ), you just need to check the guys He gave it to. God has made manifold wisdom  available to make our stay here on earth worthwhile. One of such manifold  wisdom is MENTORSHIP.

 MENTORSHIP

Man is a being meant to be guided. When he is not guided, he tends to make mistakes every now and then. As he grows, his responsibilities tend to grow at seemingly higher rate. He cannot afford to make costly mistakes. Life, they say  has no duplicate. We must therefore make the most of our stay here on earth.

One of the ways of making our stay meaningful here on earth is breaking down our larger than life aspirations into realizable piecemeal. This we call “goals”. Though our goals are personal, yet someone has done what we want to do before. The words of old wise king Solomon  comes to mind, “ There is nothing  new under the sun.” Time-honored truth!

Someone might in fact be doing what we want to do at the moment. It behoves on us to link up with such and learn from them. This is why mentorship  becomes imperative for anyone who wants to succeed without wasting enormous time, resources  and efforts.

One of the most abused word is mentorship. It is used to describe just any form of relationship. Like Myles Munroe said, “when the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. “ As simple as the word sounds, it carries a transforming power that is yet record it’s first failure.

For you to succeed, you cannot afford  to be a” lone ranger”. Everything  you ever need to succeed is with someone. As a matter of necessity you  must have someone ahead to put you through. Successful people are mentored people. They have mentors for every aspect of their lives. They don’t hazard guesses neither do they arrive at decisions without cross checking with their mentors. Little wonder they come out tops in their endeavours. You can’t afford to walk  through the maze of life blindfolded by ignorance and complacency. It’s a luxury you can’t afford
You must understand  that there are two factors involved in a successful mentorship programme  .
  1. The people
  2.  The Process.

THE  PEOPLE
This talks about the personalities involved  in a successful mentorship programme. There are two people involved in a successful mentorship. The first  is the Mentee the second is the Mentor.  It is the interaction of these two personalities that kick-starts a successful mentorship.

THE MENTEE
v  A Mentee is someone desirous of knowing more than his present capacity through the help of well-informed person . That is, he sees his present capacity  as been grossly inadequate for his future and makes conscious efforts  to his increase his knowledge bank. The distance between your future and present is the knowledge available to you. When your capacity for knowledge increases, the gap between you and your desired end is bridged. A Mentee must be knowledge-thirsty. This forms the bedrock of any success in life. Complacency is the greatest undoing of most people . Our Lord Jesus Christ rebukes the complacent in Rev 3:17.

What clearly marks a real mentee out is an unquenchable  desire to know more. When you think you have arrived, then you have actually stagnated. It is this unquenchable desire to know more that drives the mentee to look for those who have demonstrated such. When you are thoroughly satisfied with what you know, then check it! The great Apostle Paul despite his erudition and vast knowledge still hungered for knowledge. (Phil 3:10).

Ignorance is a deadly disease. That has sent many to their untimely grave both physically and otherwise. Why struggle when everything is available  for your success. When your taste for knowledge increases significantly and progressively then success for you is a matter of when, all things been equal.

Churches, Religiosity and Godliness. ~By: Isaac Aluko Ademoroti

In our land these days, can we truthfully say that it is solely the love of God that motivates those who start or run churches and ministries or could there be other motivating factors that we do not know of?  Is God Himself benefitting in any way from the increase in the number of these churches and ministries?

There are those who remain puzzled that despite the number of churches, Nigerians are not necessarily becoming more godly.  In our country, religiousity has simply not translated into godliness.  What then is the positive impact of the increasing number of churches and ministries?  What can we, as a society, show for this vast increase?  From this increase, can we seriously begin to enumerate the benefits that have accrued to the various institutions that define our nation?

Ordinarily, no sane, church-attending, bible-believing, Spirit-filled, hymn-singing, hand-clapping, heaven-bound, Rapture-expecting Christian would object at the thought of more churches and ministries being established.  What draws the ire of decent people is the realisation that churches and ministries are being established for the wrong reasons.

Now, let us look at the usually acceptable or right reasons why churches and ministries should proliferate.  One is to ensure that people do not have to travel far before they can find a place of worship.  This will ensure that people do not give excuses for not practically belonging to the family of God.  Another reason is the need to bring the church to the people thereby spreading the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.  One other reason is the need to provide succour for weary souls that are in need of spiritual help.

In most cases, however, it seems many of those who start churches and ministries have reasons different from the ones stated above.  It is hardly surprising then that despite the high number of churches and ministries, any positive impact on the society is almost zero.  For example, despite the rise in the number of churches and ministries, the level of violence in the society has increased, kidnapping of humans for ransom has become a thriving business and our leaders have become more daring.  Children are being burnt alive.  It is also a known fact that many church leaders are hands-in-glove with the looting politicians.  Is it any wonder that fear, apprehension and uncertainty rule the land?  Many of the pastors themselves no longer feel safe as they go about with security men who carry guns and knives.

The chances are that churches and ministries will fail to positively impact the society until they wake up to their God-given responsibility of making the Word of God the focus, the hub, the fulcrum and the Final Court of Appeal in anything they do.

Under normal circumstances, it is the duty of the Christian church to ensure that the new Christian believer is properly discipled in the things of God.  This is supposed to continue until that new believer truly internalises and practises Christian teachings of true repentance from dead works, new birth, cleansing in the blood of the Lamb, true worship, holiness, stewardship in the power of the Holy Spirit, soul winning, the oneness of the body of Christ, the necessity of being ready for the Rapture and several other things.  Sadly, these things are no longer on the agenda of many church leaders and pastors.

Nowadays, someone would most likely want to start a church because he or she wants to be independent and thus be the overall boss.  To such a person, other considerations are secondary.  Usually, his or her real reason for wanting to start a church remains unstated.  Others go into the ministry or start a church for economic reasons.  Such people believe that there is nothing wrong in using God to feather their own nests.  Also, there are those who, after a disagreement, would conclude that the next best thing to do is to start their own church.  It is sad that these people refuse to recognise the fact that the afore-stated reasons are not the right reasons for giving birth to a church which is essentially an organism and much more than a mere organisation.  The truth is that their churches can only be fashioned in their own image.  Only life can give birth to life.  The Lord Himself says in John 3 verse 6, ‘‘That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.’’

Therefore, it would not be out of place to summarise that the main motives these days for wanting to start churches include the following: Self-aggrandizement or self-promotion, determination to prove a point, deliberately going out on the orders of the devil to pollute the body of Christ, influence seeking and finally financial gain.  Most churches have become family business empires.  None of the motives stated above can stand up to examination before God.

The all-important question is: Is it right to start a church without being led of God?  Even after one has convinced himself or herself that there is a need for establishing a church, shouldn’t one clear it with God before going ahead to start one?  The dangers of starting a church without being led of the Holy Spirit are as follows: The Almighty would probably not back actively a venture He did not initiate.  Secondly, the founder is not unaware that he or she is not responsible to anyone, not even to the Lord.  Thirdly, the challenges that would arise may lead the founder to seek power outside God.  Fourthly, the one that will be celebrated in such a church will be the leader or founder and not Jesus Christ.  Finally, the founder may be leading people to hell but still be deluding himself/herself that he/she is working for God.

A church that is established and run according to the will of God will have the following characteristics: Jesus Christ is the centre of attraction and not the leader or founder.  The Holy Spirit is in control and leads the church.  The church accepts the leadership of the Holy Spirit and follows keenly such leadership.  The Word of God, that is, the holy bible is the Final Court of Appeal on any issue in such a church.  Lastly, members of the church are being prepared for the Rapture.

Unfortunately, most people do not bother to ask the right questions before becoming members of a church because they do not realise that their lives and eternity may be at stake.  The relevant questions that people should ask are: Is this church established according to the will of God?  Is Jesus the centre of attraction in the church?  What does the church stand for?  What are the beliefs of the church?  Does the church accept the finality of the bible?  Does the church believe that her members’ lives must be transformed into the image of the Lord Jesus Christ?
