Would You Know Jesus?

This question came up at a late night discussion of pastors some time ago, "If Jesus were to walk into this room right now, would you know him, and if so, how would you know him?

"There was a long and heavy discussion, when the entire issue was turned upside down by the person who said, "The comfort, the good news of the gospel, is not that I could, would, or should know Jesus if he came into the room right now, but that he would know me!" The pastors had temporarily forgotten the wonder of God's grace: it is not we who do the holding on to, but it is we who are held.
